This is a statue of the Jade Emperor made of fiberglass. With its lightness and plasticity, fiberglass is an ideal carrier for the sculpture of gods. When making it, the prototype is first outlined with clay sculpture or 3D modeling, and then the fiberglass raw material is injected into the mold after the mold is turned over. After solidification and demolding, it enters the stage of fine carving. The craftsman uses the carving knife as a pen to depict the flowing rhythm of the folds of the clothes, and uses the painting process to lay out the clothes with bright colors. The patterns such as auspicious clouds and dragon patterns are abstracted to break the constraints of realism. Between the collision of colors and the outline of lines, the statue is given an extraordinary atmosphere.
The scene is a factory environment, and the unfinished statues and tools and materials around witness the process of art from prototype to formation. Although this statue is in an industrial space, it is a fusion of craftsmanship and art. With a solemn posture and abstract decoration, it conveys the unique beauty of the combination of traditional beliefs and modern craftsmanship. It is a vivid reshaping of the mythological image by craftsmen with the spirit of an artist, between materials and skills.
