Bronze statue

Bronze sculpture originated in China’s Shang and Zhou dynasties. It is a kind of sculpture made of copper material using carving, casting and other techniques. (Xiguan Bronze Art) Bronze sculpture art mainly expresses the beauty of shape, texture and decoration, and is often used to express mysterious and intimidating religious themes. Bronze Buddha statues are one of them.

The production of bronze sculptures generally involves several important processes, including metal smelting, forging, carving, gilding, polishing, and red coating. The process is relatively complicated and the craftsmanship is very sophisticated.

There are two main casting methods for bronze sculptures, namely lost wax and mold method.
Lost wax method: Use wax to make a mold, apply modeling materials on the outside, and form an integral casting.
Mold method: Widely used, large bronze sculptures are generally cast in parts and then connected into a whole.
Melting copper method: Use moldless controllable melting and casting technology, “moldless” allows the copper liquid to flow naturally and dissolve; “controllable” allows the copper liquid to melt under the control of the artist.
